At San Sebastian Hospital, our mission is rooted in love, dignity, and the urgent need for accessible healthcare.

For over five decades, our hospital stood as a sanctuary for life — where mothers gave birth, where newborns took their first breaths, and where entire families found hope in times of crisis.

Located in the heart of Fortaleza, Ceará, in the northeast of Brazil — a region where access to quality medical care is limited — our hospital was more than just a building. It was a promise. A lifeline. A place where thousands of lives were welcomed into the world by skilled, compassionate hands.

In 2004, the hospital became the life mission of Dr. Ronaldo Nóbrega de Pontes, a beloved obstetrician who dedicated his life to offering dignified, humanized care to the most vulnerable. With over 38,000 births assisted throughout his career, he built more than a hospital — he built a legacy of love.

But after his passing, the doors closed. The silence that followed left a painful gap in our community.

Today, we are determined to bring that legacy back to life.

Through this international fundraising campaign, we are working to reopen San Sebastian Hospital, rebuild its maternity ward, re-equip its emergency room, and restore hope for thousands of families in need.

This mission is about more than bricks, beds, and machines.
It’s about saving lives. Restoring dignity. Reconnecting with compassion.

We believe that no mother should give birth in fear, and no child should be born without care.
