Emergency Delivery of Dona Luzia - A miracle in the rain — thanks to San Sebastian Hospital

Dona Luzia was 43 years old when she discovered she was pregnant again.
Already a mother of three grown children and grandmother to two, the news came as a surprise — but also a great risk.
She had high blood pressure, diabetes, and a high-risk pregnancy.

In her eighth month, during a stormy night, Luzia began to feel strong contractions and heavy bleeding.
The ambulance took time to arrive, and when it did, the paramedics said:
“If we want to save both the mother and baby, we must go straight to San Sebastian Hospital.”

Even late at night, the hospital team was ready.
As soon as she arrived, Luzia was rushed into emergency surgery.
The baby was born premature — but breathing.
Luzia’s blood pressure dropped dangerously, and she needed intensive care.
But she survived.

It was a night of tension — and miracles.

“They saved me. They saved my son. And they cared for us with so much love, it felt like they were taking care of their own family.” — Luzia, with tears in her eyes.

Today, Luzia plays with her son in the backyard.
But the truth is: if the hospital had been closed that night… neither of them would be here today.
